The Realm of Àlainnshire

The fictional realm of Àlainnshire is comprised of various kingdoms, as shown in the map below. Though I use dates in this series of books, the lands and the people cannot be compared to any period in history, nor did I intend to imply a connection. Àlainnshire is unique.

Humans share this land with other beings, although some of its citizens are not aware of them. Magick is present here, as my readers will discover in the first two books and the books to come.

The first book in the series, Aislin of Arianrhod, is the story of a beleagured princess trying to make her way in a slightly dysfunctional family. This book, my first, was a semi-finalist in The Kindle Book Review’s 2013 Best Indie Book Awards. It also won Honorable Mention in The Writer’s Digest 2014 Ebook Awards.

The second book in the series, Winter’s Child, is about a girl who is mentioned toward the end of Aislin of Arianrhod, though she is not named in that book. Winter’s Child is set 29 years prior to the first book and follows the adventures of Cara Dorian Tanner, mistress of Sweetwood farm.

The third book, Tempest, wraps up the story given in the first two book and adds some new names and adventures along the way.

This part of the trilogy is complete, but more books cannot be ruled out.

Enjoy your visit to Àlainnshire! Make sure you carry a moonblade with you at all times though. You never know what might be lurking in the swamps of Morrigan.
